The Couch Sessions

The official Couch Sessions CMJ Showcase is this October 16 at the Drom. One artist set to perform is Dee Goodz.

Dee Goodz is a 24 year old Nashville native with tons of motivation and few inhibitions. With an interesting combination of classic hip-hop flow, Old-school rock, and EDM sounds, his music is definitely worth a listen. He is in pursuit of “timeless music”, music that will separate him from all the greats and all the rest, deciding instead to stand on his own.

In a recent article with XXL Mag he described his goals in hip-hop as follows:

“My goal is just not to be one of those people who did it, but one of the best that did it. You catch a lot of guys nowadays especially you can forget about in six months in rap. I want to make timeless music that will keep me in the game forever.

I’m gonna be the next: How about I’m gonna be the first. I don’t want to be the next anything, I want to be the first everything though. I don’t desire to follow in anyone’s footsteps. I want to do it my way.”

Strong words for an up and comer but we are confident he can fulfill these lofty goals. Especially after his strong initial releases like “I Gottem” and “ My Hussle “ with Casey Veggies.
