MUSIC: FKA Twigs - Water Me

There’s been a lot of buzz about FKA Twigs, who despite her moniker isn’t part of a rap crew. She’s a chopped up laptop noodler/singer of the James Blake type. In her latest track, “Water Me” she totally butchers her voice under a shitload of effects, but the hook of “He won’t make love to me now” is universal to anyone who experienced heartbreak.
She got put on the cover all that is design cool I-D magazine and it makes sense since she looks looks like she popped out of an anime under the ‘pretty punk black girl’ category; I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s swinging an oversized sword in her next video. Whoever helmed this clip thought the same because he distorts her face into creepy the creepy doll category which serves this haunting track well.
