MUSIC: "Fantastic Man", A Documentary on William Onyeabor

From the 70's to 80's, William Onyeabor was a major part of a surging Nigerian musical scene where his synthesizer based records formed a direct link from funk/soul Nigerian music to the synthesizer based tracks that would rule dance floors for decades. After 8 records he quickly disappeared, leaving nothing but rumors in his wake (he's apparently become a born again Christian and shuns the spotlight) and ignoring all calls for interviews. Time has been kind to him, and while he doesn't want to celebrate or talk about his music, more then a few famous musicians do. Recently Vice/Noisey made a small documentary on the musician called "Fantastic Man" and while it doesn't solve many questions, it's a must watch to get an idea just how revolutionary his music is.
