INTERVIEW: Bobbito Garcia x Sneakers for Success
Bobbito Garcia, aka. Kool Bob Love, is a New York renaissance man, and has been for the last 25 years. Born and raised in New York, he is a DJ, writer, ball player, tv personality and most recently a film-maker. Bobbito spoke with the Couch Sessions about how doing what you are passionate about allows you to shift into "second, third or fourth gear and you just know its gonna affect people in a positive way, so its all just worth it". He speaks on the roots of creating sneaker culture in the 70s and 80s, wanting sneakers no one else had and painting his own. Come out and kick it with Bobbito when he screens his new documentary, "Doin' It In the Park: Pick-Up Basketball, NYC", at Sole Connections, Sneakers For Success' first annual fundraiser, on June 28th, 2012, at 350 Grand St, Lower East Side, NY.

Sneakers For Success is a non-profit organization that uses sneaker culture, urban lifestyle, and footwear design as a platform so students can discover their intuitive creative powers in solving problems.
