There’s something about going to see your favorite artist perform. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but if I had to try to explain it, it’s like waking up on Christmas morning, hoping you’ve gotten all the gifts you wanted to get, and finding out that not only did you get them but much more!

That's the feeling that I had when I ventured into the dimly lit venue with the changing spotlight of purple, blue and then a faint orange. As the crowd packed into the sold-out venue, excitement swirled about, while not one but two disco balls hanging from the ceiling reflecting each shade and adding to if not creating a delightful feeling.

Kicking the show off was Drama, a duo consisting of Vocalist Via Rosa and Producer Na'el Shehade, hailing from Chicago. Their sound is a mix of dark soul, house music, R&B with a tinge of pop --kinda, reminded me of a mix between Sade and Everything But The Girl. They definitely were a great way to start off the night.

Next up, the man of the hour. --SG Lewis. The spark was ignited as soon as SG and crew hit the stage. The audience instantaneously connected. So, by the time he performed "Better", "Coming Up" and "Throwaway", the audience was in a state of euphoria!  The new songs seemed like old familiars. One of the many highlights was when he dropped, "Aura" because it's always a crowd pleaser--SG grabs the bass, the keyboardist takes the lead on vocals and the crowd lost their minds, especially when that angelic piano run during the chorus of the song.

Between the stellar singers and musicians, and the over all vibe of the night this was one dope show. You can check out SG Lewis in your city, peep the dates below.
