LIVE: The End of an Era, Southpaw BK

On Monday, Feb 20^th   Southpaw held it’s LAST show in that cozy, grungy, awesome space that we have come to love.  The End of an Era event hosted by Combat Jack featured a live interview & slide show with Lyricist Lounge’s Danny Castro & “Chino”; performances by The Artifacts, Keith Murray, Jean Grae, Organized Konfusion and Masta Ace.  A live cypher with Hip-Hop band Dujeous and what appeared to be like 80 emcees on stage a la Wu-Tang style.  The cypher had a lot of up & coming emcees along side Brand Nubian's Sadat X, Craig G and Ras Kass all sending off Southpaw in style. And after the emcees did their thing, it was only right that the DJs work it out. DJs Eclipse, Stretch Armstrong and Rich Medina kept the energy on point, after all it was still a party—right? Southpaw might be no more physically, we all still have memories of those great nights we’ve experienced there.
