I will never get tired of trying new Italian restaurants, especially when pizza is involved.

What drew me to Denino's Greenwich Village initially was that it has a long history in Staten Island. I knew this place must be good! But when I realized their newest Manhattan location was on Macdougal Street, one of my favorite places in the city, I knew I had to add it to my list.

Walking in, I already knew this place would be good. The ambiance was old school Italian with some modern updates. It is decorated very nicely and wasn't very crowded at 3pm on a Sunday, which was good because we ended up staying for two hours!

We started with the calamari and fried zucchini, which were both great. I had a glass (or two) of Sauvignon Blanc, which I would also recommend. I shared an order of chicken parm and we ordered the mushroom and sausage pizza for the table, which should be no surprise to anyone that it was my favorite. The chicken parm was very good, but I thought that it would be much bigger and more substantial.

I'd like to go back and maybe try just the pizza. All of the food was very good, but I think the pizza was the most special. I love finding types that you can only get a certain places and the crust was really good on this one.
