FOOD: El Vez Burrito Bar [NYC]
Having started a new job downtown in Tribeca, I was excited to check out the food scene. I had high hopes as Brookfield Place is right there but I was completely caught off guard when a friend took me to El Vez Burrito Bar.
I am extremely picky when it comes to spicy food so I was a little hesitant. I have my favorite burrito combination down at Chipotle, but new places tend to scare me because I'm not sure what will end up being too spicy. After having everyone tell me how good El Vez is, I was confident as I ordered the Korean beef bbq with white rice, pico de gallo, their three cheese blend, guac, and corn. It was actually pretty similar to my regular order except for the Korean beef bbq and it was really all the difference. I will always like Chipotle, even with everything that's been going on, but El Vez has my heart right now. I already can't wait for the next time I get to go.
One downside of the burrito bar is that there is only the one on Vesey Street and the hours are only 11am-4pm Monday to Friday. If you ever find yourself on Vesey street during those times, do yourself a favor and go. You won't regret it. Plus, they have a punch card which means a free 10th burrito.
