LIVE: Andy Allo at Bar 96, SXSW 2013

Andy Allo might not be a household name...yet.

The LA based funkster is backed by Prince, which is always a good start, and her fanatical live show got the Saturday night crowd at Bar 96 rocking as she blew through tunes from her latest album Superconductor as well as some choice covers with her full band (and horn section!).

Seeing Allo on stage is almost like going through my dad's record collection. Allo's nostalgia is almost a rarity these days. Sure, there is always a revival of vintage sounds, but Allo might be the closest thing to being back in 1975 that you can get in 2013.
