Funk Rocker Lenny Kravitz returned to NYC to play an intimate show at Webster Hall. The audience of the sold out crowd waited for a couple of hours --which by the second hour they started to make a fuss before Kravitz sauntered to the stage with band in tow. He opened the show with "Dirty White Boots" off his latest album, Strut. The 12 song set included some old favorites, "Sister", "I Belong to You" , "Be" and a rocking 20 minute jam version of "Always on the Run." The band consisted of Craig Ross (guitar), Gail Ann Dorsey (Bass), George Laks (Keyboards), Cindy Blackman Santana (Drums), Harold Todd (Sax), Michael Sherman (Sax), Ludovic Louis (Trumpet) and Jessica Wagner-Cowan, Erika Jerry and Yahzarah St. James (Background Vox). One of the sweetest moments of the show occurred during "Let Love Rule", Kravitz looked up in the balcony and announced that Zöe and Mama (Lisa Bonet) were there, and he tossed a tambourine to Bonet. There was so much love and adoration between them it was a beautiful sight, and later during the song Bonet and Zöe tossed a large bouquet of flowers on stage. Kravitz closed the show with an encore of "Are You Gonna Go My Way", and sauntered off the stage the same way he came on leaving the crowd wanting more.
