LIVE: Pusha T, Boogie, & Tunji Ige Shut Down Red Bull's 30 Days in LA
On the 16th night of the 30 Days in LA series, Red Bull Sound Select blessed The Belasco Theatre and all of its entrants with one of the dopest hiphop lineups of their 2016 series. Philly’s young bull/Red Bull Sound Select artist Tunji Ige rocked the stage first in true hiphop form with a mic and a DJ. The rapper, that made plenty of noise at this past SXSW festival got the crowd going with tracks off his spring release, Missed Calls. Compton rapper, Boogie rolled through thick with his crew from the CPT, a hypeman/DJ, and singers to round out his sound. The Interscope signee introduced the crowd to tracks from his recent release, Thirst 48 Pt. 2, before breaking into his banger, “Oh My.”
With the Belasco hitting capacity early, Pusha T hit the stage and ran through an arsenal of hits he’s created over the years. King Push took it back to the Clipse days with classics like “Grindin” and pushed forward to tracks like “Nosetalgia” from his current G.O.O.D. Music catalogue. Never one to leave a rock unturned, he kept the crowd excited when he performed his verses from crowd favorites “Mercy,” “New God Flow, “ “Don’t Like.” From the front to the back, the room was filled with rap hands and fans making the disgusted face. Before leaving the stage, he made sure to remind the crowd not to count G.O.O.D. Music out by announcing that his new record, King Push, would be released soon, along with drops from Big Sean and Teyana Taylor. Push left it all on the stage and had the Belasco buzzing at the let out.
