LIVE: Vance Joy at KROQ's Red Bull Sound Space [LA]

Vance Joy took some time to grace an intimate crowd of contest winners and press at another memorable show in KROQ’s Red Bull Sound Space. The Melbourne, Australia singer songwriter crafted arguably one of the most loved songs of the past year, “Riptide”, earning him the opening bill of mega pop star Taylor Swift’s latest tour. Stuck in LA for a 3-night engagement at downtown’s Staples Center, Vance is taking advantage of an opportunity to be the star of the show.
 
The former Australian footballer garnered a loud showing of affection from the female attendees upon entering the stage. Easy on the eyes, but more importantly easy on the ears.   The mini-set included “Mess Is Mine”, new single “Fire And The Flood” plus album favorites “Georgia” and “Wasted Time”. One glance around the room would see the soft stare of women mouthing every word as if in a simultaneous trance. The indie star of the moment did not disappoint. Grabbing his ukulele, the crowd exploded with excitement anticipating the naked opening strums of “Riptide” which concluded the set. A sincere thank you and bright smile before exiting left the women swooning for more.
