Thundercat Live at the 930 Club in Washington DC

Thundercat descended upon Washington DC like an Anime warrior. He sold out not one but two shows at the Legendary 9:30 Club.  Channel Tres started the night off by holding down the opening slot first by DJing for a bit, before performing the infectious "Top Down" and easing into "Controller", the only downside was that his set was too short.

Thundercat came out greeted to a loud boisterous round of cheers and applause from the soul out room --this was the case for both shows. Along side Thundercat were Dennis Hamm on Keys and Justin Brown on Drums.

The setlist between both shows were similar, except the second show--which was a late show, had a few more songs added, but it was a great mix of older material, new material and a tribute to Mac Miller and Chick Corea. He also talked a bit about his collaboration with Flying Lotus' on his Netflix anime series Yasuke, before playing "Black Gold" from the series.

I  was going to post both setlists ....but, seeing Thundercat is an outer-worldly experience and who am I to ruin that by telling the show--which probably changes night after night. With that being said; Thundercat is currently on a North American tour supporting his Grammy-winning album It Is What It Is. With the California O.G. Channel Tres.
