Artist 2 Peep: Moe Pope

Feels like a minute since I've posted any new hip hop. Especially hip hop from someone I'm unfamiliar with. But I was sent this song called "Foolish" by a dude named Moe Pope and I just had to post info on him right away because his music is indeed kind of tight like that.

For the most part I don't know much about Moe Poe or the music crews he has rolled with but here's what I pretty much just learned in a nutshell: He's from Boston but worked with some Bay Area heads in the early 2000's before dropping his first LP in 2008 called "Megaphone" with the help of a producer named Headnodic. I went to their website MoePopeandHeadnodic.com to check out what I have missed and was immediately impressed  with the beats and lyrics of the "Intro" that welcomed me to their page. The two received awesome reviews for that their collaboration and many were naming them the next Talib and Hi-Tek due to their conscious like vibe, smooth beats and lack of lyrics about bitches, duffel bags and triple beams.

Fast forward to 2010 and Moe Pope is all set to drop his next LP titled Life After God. However, for this album he has teamed up with a different producer named Rain and his smooth beats are undeniably hot alongside Mop Pope's ill flow. They've released a video for two songs off the album called "Godzilla" and "Rock Me" as well as a leak of the song "Foolish" featuring another Boston MC named Reks. A song  I am totally buggin' (in a good way) over. Look for the album to drop on July 27 and peep some of his music below.
