For the past couple of years, around mid-March, I spend one night mixing a vast combination of animals and vegetables into my stomach, while gaining a couple pounds in the process, and I always love it. This is purely because of Village Voice's Choice Eats, coming to the Metropolitan Pavilion on Friday, March 11. This is by far the most highly anticipated event on my food calendar, year after year - eateries from all over New York City congregate in one spot, and the objective here is to try all of their food.
If reading this or this doesn't convince you, then this list should: Awadh, Broken Spoke Rotisserie, Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue, Fonda, The Handpulled Noodle, Kuma Inn, Le Fond, Luke's Lobster, Mable's Smokehouse, The Meatball Shop, Meat Hook Sandwich Shop, No. 7 Veggie, Queens Comfort, Raclette, Socarrat Paella Bar, StreetsBK, Swine, Veselka Restaurant - and if you're still needing convincing, this is only the beginning. More restaurants will be announced in the coming weeks so you can skip whatever trendy dinner spot you're planning to go to that Friday and just eat at the 50+ eateries bound to present at Choice Eats, and enjoy the additional craft beer, wine, and liquor pairings while you're at it.
