After some work on the infamous Yeezus album Arca separated himself from the pack with his &&&&&&& mixtape which made enough of a splash he even got to present a multimedia version of it at New York's Museum of Modern Art. It lead to him releasing his debut album Xen last year, in addition to producting current it girl FKA Twigs and most importantly tracks on the newly leaked Bjork album.
Fashion label Hood By Air commisioned him for another mixtape, and it's a doozy. Sheep is pretty experimental with woozy atmospherics; the first time we get a taste of anything remotely danceable is about five minutes in when a four on the floor bass drum kick finally sets in. But what makes Arca's music so interesting is that even with all the experimental sounds going on it feels like there's a purpose and something that cound come off as just extraneous noise comes off as a journey.
