The media just released a mass statement that Jazz is dead. What happens when two well respected labels get together? Magic! Jazz can't be dead because REVIVE and Blue note birthed this little music baby called  “Supreme Sonacy Vol. !". This lyrical blend is taking contemporary jazz, samples and vocals and highlighting the horn on a track featuring
Ray Angry ft. The Council of Goldfinger called “Celebration of Life Suite: Awakening”. Jazz has surely evolved but it is far from dead. With any art form especially evident in the music world, genres don't die, they collide and mix, something the music industry has suffered with for years- Titling. If anything shoving one artist, into one box or another, is the real issue. People evolve. Music evolves. Plain and simple just like 1+1 will never equal 3. There has to be an evolution of sound because we evolve as humans, right? With artists like Robert Glasper and Boomscat creating modern timeless classics, this compilation, along with these up and coming jazz/soul artists, jazz will continue to shine and  grow. Jazz is the seed from which most urban music came and we applaud Blue Note and REVIVE for giving us food for the soul, jazz isn't dead but ever evolving  and shows that no matter what happens, jazz is here to stay, grown, flouris and withstand any test of time.
