MUSIC: D'Angelo Playing Afropunk

It looks like the years D'Angelo took playing guitar during his hiatus has paid off. Afropunk has announced their 2014 lineup and it's a doozy. You've got futurist Hip-Hop groups clipping and Shabazz Palaces, along with alt R&B songstress Alice Smith. You've got Meshell Ndegeocello (who, if you think about it, is pretty darn punk in her own right) along with the hardest rocking middle schoolers around, Unlocking the Truth. You've got one of the greats punk bands in the world Fishbone and Trash Talk will once again grace the stage to give free reign to punch their neighbor in the face (and follow up with a friendly hug).

It takes place in Commodore Barry Park the weekend of August 23rd to 24th and it’s FREE, but if you want to avoid the long lines you can buy tickets here.
