MUSIC: DJ Spinn & DJ Rashad feat Danny Brown - Dubby

While there’s been a long string of unfortunately early deaths in the music world, the one that still stings is the death of DJ Rashad. Usually when a big music movement pops off the originators kind of get pushed to the side as it gets embraced by a worldwide audience. Not in the case of Chicago’s Footwork movement, where many of the producers/DJ’s spinning it worldwide can trace their roots right to the Midwest. DJ Rashad and his Teklife crew were the biggest name in the scene, and in the wake of his death it’s only gotten more popular thanks to the groundwork they laid down. While Rashad is gone he’s not forgotten; since his death there’s already been enough new songs released posthumously to make up an album, with presumably hard drives full of other tracks waiting to see the light of day. Here we’ve got “Dubby” from him and long time Teklife collaborator DJ Spinn along with Danny Brown (with some heavily chopped up bars).
