Finding Fela is the Alex Gibney directed documentary about…guess who. Gibney tackles Mr.Kuti's life from the spark of Afrobeat he got from studying foreign music and his transformation into international music star AND vehement activist. The movie and also covers Bill T. Jones work to bring the Broadway musical Fela! to life. You’ve got Fela Kuti mainstays like Zombie and the soundtrack, on Knitting Factory records, does a pretty good job of giving you a taste of the man’s sprawling discography.
