MUSIC: Flying Lotus Has Been A Very Busy Man

Seems the fall is about to belong to Flying Lotus. First up, we’ve got his rapping alter ego, the villainous Captain Murphy, hat got his own little mini origin story thanks to the nutters at Adult Swim. It’s worth a watch if you’re a fan of Saturday morning cartoons or Flying Lotus himself; there’s snippests of new music laced into the madness.

FlyLo’s followed it up by releasing a new Captain Murphy track, “Cosplay” on Adult Swim’s summer singles. You can get the official download here.

As far as the man behind the mask, Flying Lotus himself just announced the release of his latest album, You’re Dead! It’s out October 7th on esteemed electronic music label Warp and features some new collaborators outside of his usual Brainfeeder labelmates (Thundercat, etc). Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dog will be making rapper guest appearances along with Flylo rapping as Captain Murphy. The visuals for the album will be done by cult manga artist Shintaro Kago, and you can see his work on the album trailer below (along with snippets of Snoop!)
