MUSIC: Little Dragon live At Elsewhere in NYC

Little Dragon touched down on a brisk Brooklyn night at Elsewhere, NYC. As a group they have grown from their self-titled debut released over ten years ago which was heavily indebted to soul music to the fun dance music they dabble with today (without losing their nods to R&B). As a result instead of a relaxed stage show Little Dragon put on an event for the dancers; multiple keyboard setups on stage, a drummer who methodically thumped out four on the floor beats, lead singer Yukimi dressed like 2am 80’s dance party, and reflective lights everywhere.

The band is about to release their latest EP, Lover Chanting, and the crowd reacted to the just released self-titled track as if it was an old favorite. Pretty much the entire sold out show was one crowded dance party with everyone grooving, singing, and dancing along as one.
