MUSIC: Mobb Deep - Shark (Prod. Alchemist)

While their glory years are way behind them, there’s no reason why Mobb Deep can’t still be good. Prodigy’s rap persona has settled nicely into that of a grizzled veteran who treats violence and death with an shrug and still drops good to great solo albums. Havoc hasn’t improved over the years, but he hasn’t gotten worse either. And even Mobb Deep at their worst (the ill advised G-Unit album Blood Money) still gives gems like this:

While Mobb Deep hasn’t been bringing the pain like they used to, their producer Alchemist is. From punk albums to the videogame Grand Theft Auto, he’s been the torchbearer of the fire and brimstone sound they perfected in 1994.
