MUSIC: Rome Fortune – Boo Mobile II (feat. Toro y Moi)

Rome Fortune, everybody’s favorite green-bearded ATL MC, continues to, well, roam far outside the Dirty South with his two latest Soundcloud tracks, produced by electronic artist/producer savant Toro y Moi.

“Boo Mobile II” is built on a second & third-generation chassis: the Toro y Moi original “Boo Boo Mobile,” itself a rippling tidal pool of bass hits and flute loops, samples Ciara’s “Body Party” to set the come-hither mood.

With “Boo Mobile II,” Fortune spins Ciara’s sentiment into several verses on the importance of here-and-now. “Put your phone down for a minute/I can see you stressin’,” he begs a boo who’s tied to her mobile. Good advice for everybody in 2017.

If the Soundcloud artwork on both new tracks is any indication, they’ll be part of Fortune’s hotly anticipated forthcoming Beautiful Pimp III.
