MUSIC: St. Beauty - Going Nowhere

There seems to be something in the water in Atlanta that’s giving it a fantastic run as far as black music is concerned. While it already firmly established itself as the hotbed of hip-hop. And what’s great about their current run is it feels organic; you really can’t point a specific finger at a particular style or leader (although one can make the argument that Outkast made it easy for Atlanta musicians to be weird). Here we’ve got St. Beauty (a part of Janelle Monae’s Wondaland collective), currently on tour with The Internet. A group that came to be while they were both working at an Atlanta vintage shop. It’s a solid piece of future focused light R&B and a dream to listen to in the morning. It comes through us via Fader, watch above.
