MUSIC: The Knocks – New York City (feat. Cam'ron)

EDM mavens The Knocks enlisted Cam'ron for this compelling ode to their city.  It serves as a neat rejoinder to the 2009 Jay Z/Alicia Keys smash “Empire State of Mind”: Where “Empire” mostly glossed over the concrete jungle, this tune has Killa Cam witnessing purse-snatchings and warning you about “getting holes in your body, like a golf course.” And while Keys sings of street lights and big dreams all looking pretty, Cam can’t help recalling “when I watched the towers fall.” A defiantly proud tribute to NYC that keeps the grit mixed with the glamour.
