MUSIC: Tune-Yards - Water Fountain

tUnE-yArDs, despite the name, is the solo project if ukelele player Merril Garbus. Her work was always a low fi and fun affair (with a heavy dose of afro-pop) until her last album, Whokill blew the doors off her career with just a much bigger sound, Her follow up, Nikki Nack is due on May 5 in the UK and May 6 in the U.S. via 4AD. It's the follow-up to 2011's w h o k i l l. The album features work with producers John Hill (Rihanna, Shakira, M.I.A.) and Malay (Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys, Big Boi).
