Producer Jake One and Mayer Hawthorne formed the group Tuxedo and are dropping their debut album on Stones Throw in March. They just dropped their latest single, "Number One"
Here Mayer channels Nate Dogg vocal phrasing from 'Ain't No Fun' era but with around 99.7% less misogyny which leads to a unqiue G-Funk and Chromeo hybrid. It's a cool little track and reminds you that eventually wearing five layers of coats and boots in below freezing temperatures will end and it wil be time to look cool and strut your stuff in summer weather.
