Considering it's hump day for a bunch of you nine to fivers we decided to pay tribute to you with a hump song. Newcomer (pun unintended) Zak Waters's cover of Ginuwine's classic "Pony". There's a reason why the song has lasted so many years and has popped up(pun unintended) in different places:

Despite it's fun but juvenile lyrics it's was a surprisingly hard dose of funk (that bassline!) which rarely creeps its way into popular R&B...slow it up a bit, give it a live arrangement and its something that wouldn't be too out of place on an Earth Wind and Fire album

Zak's a pure EDM pop baby and he filters his cover through the modern music landscapes of today; you've got a bit of futurebass in the intro and the synth sounds are straight electro. However, he goes all in on the vocals like its 2am and the motherfucking Karaoke contest has just gotten personal. So even if you turn your nose down at what your ten year old sister is listening too (and you should) it's worth a listen. It's off his EP, "Now" that just dropped yesterday.
