NEW MUSIC: Owiny Sigoma Band -Wires (Theo Parrish remix)

I’ve known about the Owiny Sigoma Band for a while now, thanks to Gilles Peterson.  Sometime in 2009 a collective of London-based musicians travelled to Nairobi to collaborate with local musicians –where a jam session took place, which bore a fresh and unique sound.  Thus, the fruits of these sessions became the Owiny Sigoma Band’s self –title album which releases May 2^nd in the UK and May 3^rd in the states on the  Brownswood Recordings label.

So, when I stumbled upon the Theo Parrish remix of the song “Wires”, released this past weekend as a Record Store Day exclusive ( I hope you guys supported your local Record Stores!!) I was thoroughly pleased.  So, dancers and music lovers alike I’m sure this song will get your mojo rising.
