REMIXED: Gil Scott Heron’s – “A Place for You” (by Sandra Nkaké x Mark de Clive Lowe )

Naturally, the Gil Scott Heron tributes will continue to pour in as the days, weeks and months go by. I have an inbox full of them as I type this. But there's a particular concept/remix done by a Paris based vocalist named Sandra Nkaké that caught my ear immediately.

Sandra (re)created “A Place for You”, based on Gil’s cover of “Inner City Blues” (originally recorded by Marvin Gaye) which she then asked Mark de Clive-Lowe (amongst others) to remix. It's pretty funky, check it out.
