VIDEO: Gil Scott Heron & Jamie xx - I'll Take Care of U

I'm still not quite 100% sold on the pairing of Gil Scott Heron and Jamie xx  and their We're New Here remix album. I went into it excitedly but  unfortunately came out feeling as though this partnership may sound better on digital-paper than it does in my headphones. But I will still give it a few more listens before I make a final decision.

However, one clear standout on the album that I'm very much addicted to is the second single " I'll Take Care of U" -  a track where the blending sounds of 'old meets new' really shines through.  And now we have some gorgeous visuals to accompany it.

The video documents the life of female boxer who is also a single mother living in NYC and how she deals with balancing motherhood and her career. Gil's emotive vocals and Jamie's melodic post - dubstep beat are paired perfectly alongside such a realistic and heartfelt story. It is definitely a must peep, check it below.
