VIDEO: Kendra Morris - Concrete Wave

Somebody sent me this video the other day under the title "she is the REAL Lana Del Rey!" Now who know what that really is supposed to mean, but at least it got me to press play.

And I'm glad I did. Kendra Morris' "Concrete Waves," is a catchy track. Although I don't know about some aspects of the song, it's different enough to catch my attention. The Portishead-like intro and the booming hook are winners in my book. It's just the right touch of vintage and hip-hop (she's co-signed by DJ Premier without overdosing on both.

Add to that the rather amazing (yet slightly disturbing) video for WaxPoetics and you have a winner. Check it.
