Three To Check - Floyd Norman, Sarah Jones, and Death to Disco

Sarah Jones - Sell/Buy/Date - Tony-winning actress Sarah Jones' new one woman play on the sex trade is part activism, part Black Mirror. The 90 minute show takes a slightly comedic look at our modern society's relationship with gender, sex, and love through a supposedly utopian futuristic lens. The subject matter is heavy, but the play manages to inform, question, and challenge your assumptions through Sarah's bevy of amazing character impressions. Go with an open mind and you won't be disappointed.

Floyd Norman - An Animated Life - I'm not as big in the ComicCon/Animation scenes like that (if you are, I highly suggest listening to the FanBros Podcast right now), but even if you're not, Floyd Norman's story is intriguing nonetheless. As one of the first Black animators at Disney, he broke color and perception barriers during America's Civil Rights Movement. However this documentary more about perseverance and reinvention. Floyd's story is not a straight line to success, marred with issues not only with race, but age as well. Sometimes this documentary gets a bit too "inside baseball," but an interesting stream for us creative-minded souls nonetheless.

Undone Podcast - Disco Demolition Night - If you're a music fan of things back in the day, then you already know about Disco Demolition Night. That racist event in Chicago where users were encourage to "destroy" disco (and the other black records) during a Chicago White Sox game in 1979. Gimlet Media's new podcast Undone revisits the night that people call the "death of disco," however it goes deeper by analyzing what happens after that night, and the effects to our music and culture that still play out today.
