ART: WK's 360 at Jonathan LeVine Gallery
360, an exhibition currently held at Jonathan LeVine's pop-up gallery, is a mid-career, 25 year survey of work by New York-based, French born street artist WK, who is one of the pioneers of the urban art form in New York City. The exhibition consists of a diverse array of WK's work, both indoor and outdoor, many of which were created during the late '90's, in pre-gentrified Lower East Side, Soho, and East Village.
The works include pieces on cardboard, paper, panels, and his famous large-scale, stark-paletted collages. WK's urban installation "contraptions" consisting of hacked bikes and skateboards are on view, as well as photographs and other memorabilia documenting his earlier years creating art on the streets of New York City.
The Jonathan LeVine Gallery will be hosting a a special public event on SATURDAY, MARCH 30, 2013 from 4—6pm with an artist talk at 5pm. All guests in attendance will receive a complimentary copy of the exhibition catalog. WK will also be available to sign various exhibition-related materials, which are available for purchase.
