FOOD: DC's Capitol Bacon Festival

Washingtonians went hog wild this past weekend and it wasn’t because of their football team. The Capitol Bacon Festival invaded the Half Street Fairgrounds this past Saturday. Attendees devoured baconnaise, flavored bacon, maple bacon covered funnel cakes, bacon infused half smokes, bacon mac & cheese, bacon wrapped smoked turkey legs amongst many other items.

Basically it was, all bacon everything! People jammed out to music from the likes of Kavossi Music, Chasing Verity and more while sampling bacon jams by . The bacon eating competition was a a huge hit. Everyone knows that America loves bacon and based on the looks on the faces of the people at the Capitol Bacon Festival, apparently Washingtonians do too.
