DRINK: The Garret [NYC]

Remember that nameless bar above Five Guys on Bleecker Street in the West Village? Well, now it's a cocktail bar called The Garret--but the mystique is still the same.
You know how I feel about a good cocktail bar, so naturally I had to see what they've done to this dive bar. And it's super close to my office--win.
Five Guys is still the same, thankfully, and I believe you can still bring it up to the bar, just like old times. Although whenever I've been here it's been a little crowded so I wouldn't exactly recommend doing that.
The first time I went (I think I've been three times now) it was around 6pm on a Friday and they had some kind of strange island type music playing. It wasn't very crowded yet but it gave off a strange vibe with the music. Needless to say, the next times I went the music was not the same and actually fit better. Although it was kind of cool...
Because I love whiskey cocktails, I got an Old Fashioned. I can safely say these cocktails are legit. Which is exactly what I wanted. Other times I've been I have stuck to beer, but if I want a good cocktail, it's nice to know I don't have to go too far. And can also incorporate Five Guys into the plan!
