EVENT: Cheer on Top Chef's Mike Isabella at Kapnos/G [DC]

Okay, fellow DC Top Chef fans, this one's for you.

On Aug. 20 -- that’s tomorrow -- Top Chef vet and DC restauranteur Mike Isabella is returning to TV with an appearance on the Bravo franchise's new spin-off Top Chef Duels, where he’ll take on fellow reality TV cooking show recidivist (and his cousin -- cue the family drama!) Antonia Lofaso for one of 10 spots in a in a final challenge where the winner will receive a ton of money and a foodie adventure to be featured in Food and Wine. (If you saw their run on All-Stars, you know this is going to be a good one.) To celebrate, his 14th St spots Kapnos and (adjoining) G are hosting a viewing party.

From 9pm to close, guests can enjoy a late night happy hour -- pro-tip: the kegged lemonades are deliciously strong, and don’t miss out on the restaurant’s luscious revithosalata, which is basically a tahini-less hummus; the show starts at 10. But, with extended restaurant week specials, you’ve got incentive to make it out a little early.
