EVENT: Tipsy and Full at Edible Brooklyn's Brooklyn Uncorked

This past Thursday, Brooklyn Uncorked came to town like that friend who's always kind enough to bring a bottle of wine to dinner, except this was more like a really amazing friend who brings so much wine it never stops flowing.Hosted by Edible Brooklyn and set at the gorgeous Skylight One Hanson in Fort Greene, the event showcased an array of award-winning wines from the Long Island and Finger Lakes region, paired with bites from eateries all over Manhattan and Brooklyn.

I've said it a million times - I'm practically zero percent knowledgable about wine, but I know what I think is good, and for me, that was the Chardonnay from Long Island's Duck Walk Vineyards, as well as all of Brooklyn Oenology's wines, which seemed to be a hit, as the crowd around their table was constantly buzzing (literally and yes, the drunk way).

Now, I definitely like to drink, and Brooklyn Uncorked was obviously really meant to showcase wine, but for me, the food was the star. The food might even have knocked the wine out of the park, actually - with restaurants such as Allswell, Home/made, Nightingale 9, The Good Fork, and more on deck, I was busy running around and stuffing my face with treats from restaurants on my list of places to hit up.

Everyone knows you can't fully enjoy wine without a good plate of cheese, and Murray's Cheese Bar kept that in good supply, setting out all kinds of cheese topped with various jam-like concoctions so addicting, I shamelessly parked myself next to their table for longer than I should have, stuffing my face with glorious cheese. Enoteca on Court & Marco Polo Ristorante's octopus dish with black quinoa and lemon was on point and gorgeously plated, and Whole Foods came through with tiny panna cotta cups topped with berry coulis.

Edible Brooklyn and Manhattan's events are always so beautifully (and deliciously) curated, and I'm hoping for another one of their more food-centered events soon - if Brooklyn Uncorked was any indication, I'm signing up for that one ASAP!
