It's coming back - and it's better than ever. The highly anticipated meat event of the year is hitting the city on April 19, when some of the most respected BBQ joints in the game gather to compete for the coveted title of Brisket King of NYC.
Hosted as always by Jimmy Carbone (Jimmy's No. 43) the competing chefs show off their talent in the meat world but serving up their most delicious and creative dishes. The bites range from traditional to innovative, and everyone leaves stuffed. Past winners have included Ari White's (Wandering Que) kosher lamb brisket and Will Horowitz's (Duck's Eatery) six month aged smoked brisket.
A long list of NYC's finest meateries are in for the gold, including: Hudson and Charles, M. Wells Steakhouse, El Atoradero, Blue Smoke, Morgan's BBQ, Dinosaur BBQ, and many more.
Aaron Franklin of Austin's wildly popular Franklin Barbecue will be one of the judges, along with Jake Dell (Katz's Deli), author Peter Kaminsky, Chef John Tesar (Top Chef contestant, season 10), and Daniel Vaughn (barbecue editor of Texas Monthly).
Guests will be able to indulge in unlimited brisket samples, along with an abundance of beer, cider, and signature cocktails. If the words "unlimited brisket" weren't enough for you, here's our recap of the 2014 and 2016 events, which should do the trick. For tickets, click here.
