FOOD: Best Burgers in NYC

One of my favorite things to do is try out new burger places around the city.  There are some classic go-to's and some others that I've come across that really surprised me.  And I thought that I'd share some of what I think to be the best burgers in the city...
Minetta Tavern -- 113 MacDougal Street
Perhaps the king of all burgers, the $30 Black Label Burger is certainly worth trying once.  Would I get it all the time?  Of course not.  But for special occasions, absolutely.
The Spotted Pig -- 314 West 11th Street
Another classic definitely worthy of the hype.

Burger Joint in Le Parker Meridien -- 119 West 56th Street (photo above)
This place is cool not only because their burgers are good and inexpensive but because you feel kind of cool going here with the whole speakeasy burger vibe.  Can't say I know a lot of people that know this place exists and sometimes in New York, that's impressive.
JG Melon -- 1291 3rd Avenue & 89 MacDougal Street
Another classic.  And with their new location on MacDougal street, I will be going there much more.

Black Market -- 110 Avenue A (photo above)
Black Market gives Minetta Tavern a run for their money with a burger just as savory but a fraction of the price.

Whitman's -- 409 East 9th Street (photo above of patty melt burger)
Unique and delicious burgers.  Tiny space so plan ahead but definitely worth the wait.
Corner Bistro -- 331 West 4th Street
This place goes to show that burgers don't have to be expensive or fancy to be delicious.
Royale -- 157 Avenue C
Another sneaky good burger joint in Alphabet City.
Shake Shack -- everywhere
New York's quintessential burger.
