Over the weekend a large group of friends went to Bottega Restaurant to celebrate another friend's 30th birthday.

It happened to be raining a crazy amount but the second we walked in to Bottega we were warmly greeted and stepped inside a beautiful and calm restaurant. We were brought to our table and right away we knew we were going to have a great time. With humor and great knowledge, our server brought us bottle after bottle of wine and we shared delicious food together.

We ordered several appetizers, my favorite being the polenta with mushrooms and truffle oil. It was large enough to be shared by half the table and now as I write this, I wish I had some in front of me. For my main dish I went with the linguine and clams and it was one of the best I've ever had. That's my go-to order when at an Italian restaurant and it really was incredible.

I would highly recommend Bottega if you're looking for a fun yet upscale restaurant to celebrate a birthday or take a date. We all had a great time and the food was just incredible. I love finding spots like this relatively randomly and being so happily surprised.
