FOOD: DC’s Ramen World Recap

It was all good just a week ago. Rewind one week and the pseudo-spring weather that Washington, DC is famous for shone upon us all, even if only for a few hours. But District foodies had a legitimate reason to hibernate indoors. Two words: Ramen World!

Noodle heavyweights like James Beard Award Rising Star of the Year semifinalist Erik Bruner-Yang of Toki Underground and Daikaya dished out unlimited bowls of heavenly broth stocked full of accompaniments with newcomers Thip Khao, Donburi, and Chaplin for guests to slurp. And if that wasn’t enough to satiate the souls of Washington’s young and hungry, attendees dine on delights from Pho Wheels, Sno Cream Company, and Dolcezza. Kirin poured endlessly and mixed drinks containing Pyrat, Dewars, and Bombay Sapphire were handled by some of DC's finest mixologists.SONY DSC

My top dish of the day was the pork belly taco on Malaysian flatbread from the crew at Pho Wheels and snow cream overflowing with crunchy goodies like their housemade cookies and creme macarons, Fruity Peebles. The food was nom nom and the space was open and airy.
