FOOD: Estancia 460
I don't go to Tribeca often or enough. It's a really cool neighborhood that is just one that I never really think of. But after going to Estancia 460 the other week I am definitely going to make more an effort.
Apparently this place has been around or 20 years (according to their website) which is saying a lot in NYC--and maybe you are wondering what took me so long to come here, I don't know.
The atmosphere of Estancia 460 is really cozy and inviting. We ended up staying for quite a while finishing our wine and we never felt rushed or unwelcome.
We started with a bottle of Malbec, which I wish I could remember for the life of me because it was really good and I'd love to try and find it. To start we had the grilled mozzarella which was so unbelievably good. The amount they gave you was perfect for two people, and I'd even venture to say more, depending on how hungry you are. I hate when places give you just a bite--that's something I'm not about.
I saw pizza on the menu and I came really close to ordering it but then decided to have the branzino. I haven't had fish in a long time and when it came I made the right choice. Again, the portion was great. So much so that I couldn't finish it--and I was starving. We didn't have dessert because there was so much food in front of us, but next time I will have to check it out.
