I have admittedly never had Korean BBQ before venturing to Madangsui on 35th Street with some coworkers to celebrate the holidays.
The restaurant itself is pretty nondescript. There's nothing super cool about it but each table has its own cook top, which makes for a really fun group dinner. We chose a selection to start that included the beef, potato pancakes, and glass noodles. Everything came with a bunch of side sauces and toppings, which was really fun to try them all. Thankfully, our server cooked the meat for us; I would be too afraid I would cook it wrong!
After the beef was eaten, we decided to try the pork next. I think we over ordered a bit but it was definitely worth it. I did prefer the beef over the pork, but it was also very good and so much fun to try new things. We drank Soju and had a really nice time. I would highly recommend Madangsui for a group dinner in a central location. While Midtown isn't the most appealing place, sometimes that's just where you are!
