FOOD: Rosemary's [West Village, NYC]
I've been meaning to go to Rosemary's in the West Village for a while now. One of my friends says that it's his favorite restaurant in NYC. It's in a great location and looks so cozy from the outside so my friend and I went a couple of weeks ago, once and for all

We started with the octopus salame which was super thin and very good. The one thing I will say is that the portions aren't big, maybe a little on the small side, so I'd keep that in mind. But I love octopus and was happy we ordered that!
Then we shared the carbonara pasta and a winter citrus salad. The salad was good--but not what I was expecting at all. It was a lot of grapefruit and lemon slices drizzled with honey, but not enough lettuce. It was a "winter" salad. but to me it felt much more summery. But the pasta was very good. I don't order pasta all that often, but I was really in the mood for it and it was excellent.
The wine we had was nice as well--I had a cabernet sauvignon and it was the perfect Wednesday night. The decor was incredibly Christmas-y and cozy, and I can't wait to go back. They grow their own vegetables on the roof so I can imagine that this summer I'll have to go and check it out.
