FOOD: Sunny & Annie Deli [NYC]
There are quite literally loads of delis all over New York. Bodegas of every variety line the streets, especially downtown. But one seems to stand above the rest--and not just because it's a block away from my apartment.
In a New York Magazine article about Sunny & Annie Deli, they said that there could be hundreds of sandwiches on the menu. But none of it is fancy in any way, and it really shouldn't be. This is one of the best reasons to live in New York: even the simplest looking delis can make you some of the best sandwiches you've ever had.
Every time I go in here and try something new, it becomes my new favorite. Like the Mona Lisa, which is chicken cutlet, mozzarella, basil, tomato, and balsamic. Or the #16 with chicken cutlet, thousand island dressing, cheddar, and cole slaw. All amazing, all super cheap. Next time you're in Alphabet City and need to grab a quick bite, do yourself a favor and check out this unassuming deli. And prepare to have one of the best sandwiches, maybe ever.
