FOOD: The Smile [NYC]

The Smile has been on my list of places to try for a really long time now.  So when my friend and I were at a loss on where to go for brunch, I consulted said list and felt it was time.
We went around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and only had to wait for about 10 minutes.  They had originally said 20 so we were pleasantly surprised.  It was pretty busy but I honestly was expecting worse.  Granted we were only two so that probably helped a little.
The ambiance is literally perfect.  The restaurant is ground level and the inside is so incredibly cozy.  It's woodsy feeling and really just the coziest place to spend an afternoon.  I bet it's lovely in the summer but the fall felt so right.  I'm glad that I waited and can't wait to go back when it's really cold out.
The baguette french toast really caught my eye and will probably be what I get next time, but I went with the smoked salmon on a Black Seed sesame bagel.  It came with a small salad and was exactly what I wanted.  I'm already looking forward to my next meal there!
