Two words: truffled anglaise. One more word: vegan. Mind blown.

Brunch is clearly the domain of eggs, dairy and a certain overrated, salt-cured pork product, but downtown DC's Equinox restaurant likes to think outside the box. And the restaurant's long-running and popular weekly Sunday vegan brunch buffet is getting a luxurious upgrade come November. To celebrate truffle season, they're using the highly prized and very expensive mycete everywhere: expect to find truffles in the aforementioned anglaise accompanying a selection of pastries, an sweet-and-savory combination of epic proportions; an oh-so creamy heirloom bean soup; arancini so delicious I dare you to eat just one; and shaved right on top of the eggy-iest tofu scramble you could ever hope to eat.

The brunch is $30, and the truffle option will set you back an additional $20, but treat yourself. If it's good enough for Oprah, right?
