The Couch Sessions

Moving to the East Village recently, Whitman's was on my list to try as I heard their burgers and sandwiches are amazing. I actually tried to go once but during the week they open at 5pm...good to know! (Fear not, they open at 12pm on weekends!)

My dad and I are on an unofficial quest to find the best burgers in the city so when he came in for lunch this past weekend I knew we had to try Whitman's. I was nervous, only because the restaurant is incredibly small, but we sat right away, upstairs. I think there are more tables downstairs as well, which is good to know.

I ordered the patty melt (first picture above) and wasn't too sure what to expect. I knew there would be three different cheeses involved, but I didn't realize it would basically be a grilled cheese with a burger in the middle. Needless to say, it was incredible and I'm already thinking about when I can go back.

My dad ordered the cheesesteak (pictured below) and while it looks a little questionable, he said it was unreal and the best cheesesteak he's ever had.

All in all, we had a great time at Whitman's and will certainly be going back. I think I need to try the Juicy Lucy next (cheese in the middle!). Who's with me??
